Inspect a saved SDC artifact

Use Altifigence CLI 0.1.9 on Linux for this local workflow.

Require exit status 0 before reading a saved result. Keep standard error separately and inspect the result fields described below.

Save a small literal constraint file

Use an existing project directory and save constraints.sdc inside it. Start with the literal primary-clock statement below. The inspection command reads this saved file and returns the supported parser result. Use an absolute, canonical project path and a path relative to that project for the input. Replace /absolute/project in the example with your actual project directory.

Inspect the saved file

alti eda inspect --project /absolute/project --format sdc constraints.sdc > sdc-receipt.json

Read sdc-receipt.json and confirm its schema is eda.artifact-inspect.result.v1. The document identifies the input bytes by digest and length, records parser provenance, and includes a normalized_summary with the parsed constraints. Check diagnostics and authority alongside the summary when recording what was inspected. The result is a read-only inspection receipt for the selected file.

This output block shows selected identifying fields. Retain the complete document, including input, parser, normalized_summary, diagnostics, and authority. Those fields keep the interpretation tied to the exact saved bytes and parser version used for the inspection. A later inspection after editing constraints.sdc produces evidence for the updated file.

Correct a missing input path

If the command names missing.sdc instead of the saved constraints.sdc, the input_path_invalid diagnostic starts with cannot open input file: and includes the operating system missing-file reason. Keep the existing project directory, change the relative input argument to constraints.sdc, and rerun the inspection below.
