Take your first walk in vFactory

Focus the fab view, move forward and sideways, and turn with the keyboard or navigation buttons.

Practise moving through the example reference fab in vFactory on Cloud or in the Windows app. Open the reference fab with the guide below before you begin.

Open the reference fab in vFactory

Enter Walk view

  1. In the reference fab scene toolbar, choose Walk.

  2. Choose Visitor tools to open the navigation panel. The step and turn controls appear in Walk view.

Move and turn

  1. Use Step forward and Step backward to move ahead or back. Use Step left and Step right to move sideways.

  2. Use Turn left 15 degrees or Turn right 15 degrees to change direction.

  3. To use the keyboard, click inside the 3D fab view to give it focus. W/S move forward or backward; A/D move sideways; Left/Right turn. Hold Shift while moving to run.

Keyboard help in the scene toolbar lists the walking keys. Click inside the 3D view first so that it receives the keys.

Stop or start again

Choose Stop walking to stop travel to a destination. Choose Reset visitor position to return to the starting position.

The reference fab is an example. Its layout and process data are assumptions, not data from a real fab.
