Analyze saved RTL with Evolve

Run the local focused RTL analyzer and read its target-specific structural evidence.

Use Altifigence CLI 0.1.9 on Linux for this local workflow.

Require exit status 0 before reading a saved result. Keep standard error separately and inspect the result fields described below.

Save a small RTL module

Save the module below as buffer.sv in your project directory. Use a real absolute project path in the command that follows. The analyze operation reads a saved module and selects the named top and target. Start with generic-asic to keep the first run focused on the native structural analysis of this small combinational design.

module buffer(input logic a, output logic y);
  assign y = a;
endmodule

Run the focused analyzer

alti evolve capabilities
alti evolve analyze --project /absolute/project buffer.sv --top buffer --target generic-asic > buffer-analysis.json

Open buffer-analysis.json after the command completes. An explicit target produces the altifigence.rtlAnalyze.multiTarget.v1 envelope. Read targets and primary to confirm the selected profile, then inspect per_target together with the shared schematic, roofline, tool_inputs, and any notes. Keep the full envelope when comparing revisions so each metric remains attached to its target and supporting evidence.

{"schema_version":"altifigence.rtlAnalyze.multiTarget.v1","targets":["generic-asic"],"primary":"generic-asic"}

The output block shows selected identifying fields. The complete analysis contains the target metric vector and structural products. Read the availability and diagnostics attached to each metric before using it in a comparison. Save the source file and analysis together so you can associate the result with the exact module revision under review.

Select the existing source file

Using missing.sv for the module argument produces module not found: missing.sv from the native analyzer. Select the buffer.sv file saved in the project above, keep --top buffer, and repeat the command below. Read the new target result and retain the complete successful envelope with that source revision.

alti evolve analyze --project /absolute/project buffer.sv --top buffer --target generic-asic > buffer-analysis.json
