Audit retention and record removal
Understand the retention setting and deletion status shown for your organization.
In your team organization's Cloud admin window, open Audit. With admin.audit.settings.read, you can read Audit retention and capacity.
Retention setting
Under Retention, Organization setting shows the current retention period in months. The default is 12 months. The panel identifies whether the organization setting matches that default or uses an organization override.
Retention determines the period used to calculate record expiry. Settings apply after a successful save, and expiry for existing history is recalculated before removal.
Deletion status
Read the deletion status beside the retention setting. Record removal runs as a separate process. When automatic deletion is off, expired records remain in stored usage until their deletion is verified.
Use the retention period, deletion status and Stored usage together when reviewing the organization's audit history. Usage as of (UTC) identifies when the displayed usage was measured.
