Calculate a DC operating point
Calculate node voltages and branch currents from an analog circuit in ALcad.
Use these steps in Cloud 2.1.2.10 or Windows 2.1.2.3. Sign in and select an organization with browser analysis access, then open ALcad in your Cloud project or Windows PC project.
Prepare the circuit
On Cloud, choose File → New analog circuit; on Windows, choose New analog circuit on the Schematic toolbar. You can also open an existing analog circuit. Connect resistors and independent DC voltage or current sources, and add ground.
Run the calculation
In Circuit analysis, select DC operating point.
Select Run DC operating point. The inspector opens to show the calculation status and results.
Read voltages and currents
Read Node voltages in V and Branch currents in A. Select a net or component in the result tables to select it in the circuit. Positive branch current follows pin 1 to pin 2.
Expand Calculation input to inspect the netlist used for the calculation.
Save the results
After the calculation, select Download DC result JSON or Download DC result CSV. After changing the circuit, run the calculation again to get results for the new input.
