Circuit editing and execution on Cloud and Windows

Understand circuit documents, browser calculations and the account access used by each host.

This explanation applies to ALcad in Cloud 2.1.2.10 and Windows 2.1.2.3.

Local calculation and access check

  • 1. ALcad
  • 2. Analysis access
  • 3. Browser Worker
  1. ALcad → Analysis access · Request: Check account, organization and permission
  2. Analysis access → ALcad · Response: Access granted
  3. ALcad → Browser Worker · Request: Run calculation
  4. Browser Worker → ALcad · Response: Calculation result

Work with a circuit document

ALcad provides analog and digital circuit documents. Add components and connect pins. With a circuit active, choose File → Download circuit on Cloud or Download circuit on the Schematic toolbar on Windows to keep a copy.

Use your analysis access

Sign in and select an organization with browser analysis access. ALcad checks the current account, organization and permission when you run a DC, RLC or digital calculation.

Where the calculation runs

DC, RLC and digital calculations run on your computer in a browser Worker.

On Cloud, they use the current Cloud project. On Windows, they use the selected PC project and verified account session.

Choose a calculation

For an analog document, select DC operating point, AC frequency sweep or Transient step response in Circuit analysis. For a digital document, choose Time waveform or Truth table.
