Choose the digital waveform value format

Read waveform values as binary, hexadecimal, unsigned decimal or signed decimal.

Use a recorded digital time waveform in ALcad in Cloud 2.1.2.10 or the Windows app 2.1.2.3.

Choose a value format

  1. In the waveform toolbar, open Waveform value format.

  2. Choose Binary, Hexadecimal, Unsigned decimal or Signed decimal.

  3. Read the Value column at the current sample.

Read the formatted value

Binary shows the bits with the most significant bit first. Hexadecimal uses a 0x prefix. Signed decimal interprets the most significant bit as the sign bit using the signal's declared width.

For an 8-bit value of 11111111, the hexadecimal display is 0xFF, the unsigned decimal display is 255 and the signed decimal display is -1.

When the bits contain X or Z, the row keeps those bits and shows Numeric value unavailable (X/Z) in a numeric format.
