Keep your solid document when a build fails
Read the build failure, preserve applied features and retry the calculation or edit the document.
In Cloud and the Windows app, ALcad 3D CAD shows Solid could not be built when the geometry calculation returns an error. The applied feature document remains editable.
Read the error and keep the document
Open Details below the error message to read the calculation diagnostic.
Choose Download solid to keep the applied feature document as .alcad-solid.json.
Retry the current document
If Details says The geometry worker failed. Your document is unchanged., choose Rebuild solid to calculate the current applied document again. Wait for the result. A completed mesh shows the preview and its measurements.
Simplify a timed-out model
If Details says Geometry calculation timed out. Simplify the model and retry., keep a downloaded copy of the applied document before simplifying it.
If the feature list is hidden, choose Toggle solid features. If the model has several features, right-click the last feature in Features, choose Edit properties, then Delete feature. ALcad starts a new calculation for the remaining features.
Check the result, then use Download solid to keep the revised document. Use Open solid with your original downloaded file when you want to resume editing the full feature document.
