Explore a digital time waveform

Choose signals and move through the recorded samples of a digital circuit.

Use an editable digital circuit in ALcad in Cloud 2.1.2.10 or the Windows app 2.1.2.3.

Open the time waveform

  1. Choose View → Panels → Properties to open the circuit properties panel.

  2. In Digital analysis, choose Time waveform.

  3. Choose Run digital simulation, or choose Open saved digital results and select a result JSON file that matches the current circuit and settings. The recorded time waveform appears.

Choose signals

  1. Select a signal in Digital waveform trace, then choose Add trace. You can display up to 8 traces together.

  2. Select a signal name in the waveform to select its wire or component in the circuit.

Move through recorded samples

  1. Move the Digital waveform sample slider to inspect a recorded time. Read Cursor time and the signal values at that sample.

  2. With the slider focused, use the arrow keys to move one recorded sample. Home moves to the first sample; End moves to the last sample.

  3. Choose Follow latest sample to follow the newest recorded sample as a stepped result grows.
