Save and restore ALcad settings

Export ALcad settings to JSON and review imported settings before applying them.

Use a JSON file to keep a copy of your ALcad settings.

Open Settings file

Cloud: choose the settings gear in ALcad, then General → ALcad → Settings file.

Windows: choose the settings gear in ALcad, then Settings file.

Export your settings

  1. Choose Export current settings.

  2. Confirm where your browser or app saves alcad.settings.json.

Restore settings

  1. Choose Import JSON… and select an ALcad settings JSON file of up to 32 KiB.

  2. Review the text in Settings JSON. You can edit it before applying.

  3. Choose Apply JSON to apply the settings.

In Cloud, importing theme and UI density also updates Digital Design Studio appearance.

Choose Reload current settings to replace the editor text with your current settings.
