Set solid dimensions and combine shapes
Set a box and cylinder in millimeters, then apply a union or subtraction.
In Cloud and the Windows app, use the workspace selector in the header to choose ALcad → 3D CAD. Dimensions and positions use millimeters; rotations use degrees. Start this example with an empty solid document. If the feature list is hidden, choose Toggle solid features.
Set the base box
Choose Add box.
In Feature properties, set Dimensions (mm) X, Y and Z to 40, 30 and 6.
Set Center (mm) X, Y and Z to 0, 0 and 3, then choose Apply dimensions. The first feature defines the base solid.
Subtract a cylinder
Choose Add cylinder.
Set Diameter to 8, Height to 10 and Center (mm) X, Y and Z to 0, 0 and 3.
Set Operation to Subtract, then choose Apply dimensions.
Check the box followed by the subtracting cylinder in Features. When the calculated mesh appears, inspect the hole in the preview.
Combine shapes with a union
To combine the cylinder with the box, select the cylinder, set Operation to Union and choose Apply dimensions. ALcad applies the features from top to bottom and recalculates the mesh after an applied change.
