Edit a solid profile and its constraints

Create an extruded profile from XY vertices and edit rectangle dimensions or sketch constraints.

In Cloud and the Windows app, use the workspace selector in the header to choose ALcad → 3D CAD. A profile extrusion uses an XY outline and a height along its local Z axis.

Enter a free profile

  1. Choose Add profile extrusion. In Feature properties, set Sketch constraints to Free profile.

  2. In XY vertices (mm), enter one X, Y pair per line. The last vertex connects to the first. For a rectangle, use the four lines below.

  1. Set Height to 6 and choose Apply dimensions.

Drive a rectangle with dimensions

  1. Set Sketch constraints to Dimension-driven rectangle.

  2. Enter Sketch width (mm), Sketch height (mm), Sketch origin X (mm) and Sketch origin Y (mm).

  3. Choose Apply dimensions to apply the rectangle and extrusion settings.

Add a sketch constraint

  1. For a free profile, set Sketch constraints to Constrained profile.

  2. Set Constraint type to Horizontal edge, select the intended Edge and choose Add constraint.

  3. Review the solved preview and the applied constraint list. Select a constraint to edit it, then choose Update constraint.

  4. When the preview is valid, choose Apply dimensions to apply the sketch to the solid.
