Choose a reference-fab route and lot quantities
Review the route, lot count, wafers per lot and release timing before running a design in vFactory.
Choose the inputs
From the product menu, select vFactory → Wafer Process & Fab, then Design to wafer, and import a design source. In a capable Cloud project, you can also open a projected GDS structure with Send to vFactory.
In Cloud, select logic-a or logic-b in Reference fab route.
Under Geometry, yield and lot release, enter Lot count and Wafers per lot. Both values must be whole numbers: 1–50 lots and 1–1,000 wafers per lot.
Set Release interval (s) to the time between lot releases, in seconds.
Review the other numeric inputs and select Calculate preview to inspect the geometry and yield estimates.
Select Run design to wafer when the inputs are ready.
Choose logic-a or logic-b in Reference fab route, then check Lot count, Wafers per lot and Release interval (s). The allowed range is shown under each field.
Windows 2.1.2.3 uses the logic-a route. Set the lot quantities and release timing in Geometry, yield and lot release.
Set the release timing
The first lot is released at simulation time zero. Each later lot is released one interval after the previous lot. For three lots with a 60-second interval, the release times are 0, 60 and 120 seconds. Each lot uses the same route and wafers-per-lot value.
The interval can be 0–31,536,000 seconds. The last lot must be released within 31,536,000 seconds of simulation start. A zero interval releases all lots at time zero.
Review the result
Calculate preview calculates geometry and yield estimates. The separate Run design to wafer action runs the reference fab and displays Lot completion and delivery.
Review each lot’s wafer count, status, cycle time, completion time and delivery time. In Cloud, the result also shows Reference fab route. Completed wafers counts wafers from completed lots.
Use vFactory: explore a fab and follow a design to wafer
The reference fab uses synthetic process assumptions. Results are model estimates.
