Save a fab scene and update its layout
Save and reopen scene files, keep a scene in a project, and choose between synchronizing the process model and creating a new layout.
Open the scene controls
These steps apply to Cloud and Windows 2.1.2.3. From the product menu, select vFactory → Wafer Process & Fab. Select Process models, choose Fab simulation under Model, then select Scaled fab scene (preview). Open Fab settings in the scene toolbar.
Save and open a local scene file
Select Save scene file. With project file controls available, expand Local scene files first.
Keep the downloaded .alcad-fab-scene.json file.
Select Open scene file and choose a scene JSON file of up to 32 MiB.
If the scene replacement prompt appears, select Replace scene to load the file or Keep current scene to continue editing the current scene.
Opening a scene starts its undo history at the loaded scene revision.
Keep a scene in a project
With a writable project connected and the project file controls available in Fab settings, use these steps in Cloud or Windows 2.1.2.3. Project scene files can contain up to 4 MiB.
Select Save scene as project file. Enter a new, unused name in Project document filename, then select Save project document. In Windows 2.1.2.3, keep the .alcad-fab-scene.json ending in the name.
To update a scene already opened or saved in this project, select Save scene to project. The first save also asks for a new filename.
To reopen a saved scene, select Open scene from project, choose it under Project document, and select Open project document. If a replacement checkbox is shown, select it to confirm replacing the current draft.
Synchronize or create a new layout
After changing the source process model, select Synchronize with process model in Fab settings. Synchronization adds new process slots, relinks recognized renamed groups, removes placements whose slots were removed, and keeps the waypoints of a route leg when the same route still joins the same two equipment groups at the same step. The notice reports how many route legs were reset.
Select New layout from process model to lay out the process slots again.
Use Undo scene edit to return to the previous scene edit, or Redo scene edit to apply it again. Save the resulting scene to keep it.
