Render backends

Look up rendering backends, quality levels and the true-scale plan fallback.

This reference applies to vFactory in Cloud 2.1.2.10 and Windows 2.1.2.3.

Select 3D map, then open Fab settings and expand Rendering to view Quality and Render diagnostics.

Render paths

Path

Selection and display

WebGPU

The initial automatic choice uses High for a recognized discrete GPU and Medium for integrated and other hardware WebGPU adapters.

WebGL2

Low is selected for a software adapter or when the capability probe chooses the WebGL2 path.

True-scale plan

The plan appears when capability checks choose it, renderer-module loading fails, or a Low-tier runtime fails. The view shows 3D acceleration unavailable · showing the true-scale plan.

Quality and recovery

Quality provides automatic selection and Ultra, High, Medium and Low. Ultra, High and Medium use WebGPU; Low uses WebGL2. Automatic selection can adjust the active tier as rendering performance changes.

A runtime failure at a higher tier restarts rendering at Low. A Low-tier runtime failure switches to the true-scale plan.

Diagnostics

Render diagnostics shows the backend, GPU adapter, quality tier, selection reason, render scale, pixel ratios, canvas dimensions and last adaptive change once diagnostics are available.

In Cloud, select Enable dynamic resolution for Ultra, High or Medium to allow render-scale adjustment. It is off by default.
