Export the reference fab model

Request a JSON download of the opened reference fab’s simulation input and confirm the export status.

Use Export simulation model to keep the reference fab’s simulation input as a JSON file. These steps apply to vFactory in Cloud and the Windows app.

Choose the reference fab

  1. Open vFactory and select Reference fab. For the initial navigation, see the reference-fab guide below.

  2. Select Fab settings, the gear button in the scene toolbar, then expand Fab setup.

  3. To choose a different reference size, enter a whole number from 200 to 400 in Reference tools and select Open reference fab.

  4. Reopen Fab settings if the panel closes. Check Our reference fab and the tool total in the summary, then expand Fab setup.

Export simulation model appears while the reference fab is open. If the view shows an imported model, use Open reference fab to return to the reference example first.

Export the model

  1. Select Export simulation model.

  2. Check for Model export requested. Open it with the fab simulator. The download is requested as vfactory-reference-fab-v2.json.

  3. Check your downloads for the JSON file and keep it for later use.

The file contains a fab-v2 simulation input with an altifigence.fab-model/v2 model, generated for the opened reference fab’s tool total. Apply a new Reference tools value with Open reference fab before exporting it.

If The model could not be saved. appears, select Export simulation model again to retry.

The reference fab is an example. Its layout and process data are assumptions, not data from a real fab.
