Save a GDS file in a Cloud project

Save a new GDS project file, check its destination and open the saved copy.

Use these steps in Digital Design Studio on Cloud 2.1.2.10. Open the intended Cloud project and wait until its workspace is ready.

Prepare the file

Choose a non-empty .gds or .gdsii file up to 4 MiB. Have an unused project-relative destination ready, such as layout/top.gds.

Save to the current project

  1. Open Flow Navigator → Viewers → GDS layout viewer.

  2. If the file controls are hidden, select the Open GDS file folder button.

  3. Under Choose a GDS file (up to 4 MiB), choose the file on your computer.

  4. Check New workspace-relative path. The file name is filled in initially; change it to your intended new project path.

  5. Select Save new file and wait for the save to finish.

  6. After a confirmed save, the new path is selected and the viewer opens the saved file.

Check the saved copy

Open the file controls and check the path in Saved GDS files. Select a listed file to view the copy saved in this Cloud project. To add another copy, use a different unused destination.
