Inspect GDS structures, layers and geometry details

Choose a GDS structure, control layer visibility and read the projection details.

Use this view in Cloud 2.1.2.10 or Windows 2.1.2.3. Open a saved GDS file from the project file list: a Cloud project file in Cloud, or a file inside the current My PC project on Windows.

Choose a structure

After the file opens, the viewer selects a structure and projects its geometry. To inspect another structure in this file tab, choose it in Structure. The view updates automatically.

Show or hide a layer

  1. Wait for the layout to finish drawing, then open Layers / datatypes.

  2. Find the layer/datatype pair. Each row shows its polygon and path counts.

  3. Select or clear its checkbox to show or hide that pair's geometry.

  4. Use 2D (Top) or 3D to change the view, and Fit view to fit the layout in the viewport. On Windows, Fit view is an icon button with that tooltip.

The Layers / datatypes panel open over the 3D layout. Each row has a checked box, a color swatch and a label such as Layer 10 / datatype 0 · 4840 polygons · 0 paths.

Each layer/datatype row shows its polygon and path counts; all rows are checked here.

Read the projection details

  1. Open File details to read the saved input's path, byte count, GDS header version and SHA-256.

  2. With a projected scene, check the database unit, vertex count and layer-height message.

  3. If Geometry diagnostics is shown, read its entries for this projection.

The File details panel for layout/dds483-live/wrapper-0p9mib.gds: 973,422 bytes, GDS header 600, the input SHA-256, Three.js · WebGPU, database unit 1e-9 m and 544,002 vertices, and a note that layer heights use visualization defaults.

File details lists the input's path, size, header version and SHA-256, then the database unit, vertex count and layer-height message.
