Open a separate window
Open a saved file in another window, or open a Cloud DDS or ALcad work surface separately.
Use a separate window to keep a saved file or a Cloud work surface in view while you work.
Open a file window
These steps apply to Cloud and the Windows app.
In Cloud, save all edited files and finish ongoing work. In the Windows app, save this file with Ctrl+S.
Right-click its editor tab and choose
Open in New Window.Continue in the new window.
Open a Cloud work window
In Cloud, use the numbered DDS or ALcad window row in the project navigation.
Save edited files and finish pending work.
Right-click the numbered window row and choose
Open in new window.Check the project and work surface in the new window.
Check window opening
A tab with unsaved edits shows Save Before Opening in New Window. Save it before choosing the window action.
If Cloud shows Allow pop-ups to open a project window., allow pop-ups for the site and choose Open in new window again.
If the editor shows The editor could not be opened in a new window., in Cloud, save all edited files and finish ongoing work; in the Windows app, save this file with Ctrl+S. Then repeat step 2.
