When a saved GDS file cannot be read
Check the project, file path and size, then reload the saved GDS input.
These Windows checks apply to Digital Design Studio 2.1.2.3. The changed-input check also covers Cloud 2.1.2.10. Use the section that matches your message and host.
Choose a file in the current Windows project
Windows message: “Choose a .gds or .gdsii file saved inside this project.”
Choose a saved .gds or .gdsii file inside the My PC project you have open. For a manual path, use a project-relative path such as layout/top.gds.
Check a Windows read failure
Windows message: “Could not read the saved GDS file. Check that it exists and can be read, then reload it.”
Check that the file still exists in the current project and can be read. Then select the viewer toolbar's Reload file button.
Choose a smaller input when asked
If the Windows file-size message asks for a smaller layout, open a non-empty .gds or .gdsii file up to 4 MiB.
Reload a changed input
On Windows, the message is “The saved GDS file changed. Reload it to view the current layout.”
In Cloud, a changed-input error can read “GDS input changed; inspect and select its structure again”.
Select the viewer toolbar's Reload file button to read the current saved content and project it again. Choose the intended Structure after reloading if needed.
Retry a Windows viewer operation
Windows message: “The GDS viewer could not complete this operation. Reload the view and try again. If the problem continues, restart Digital Design Studio.”
Reopen the GDS view and try again. If this operation error continues, restart Digital Design Studio.
