Saved source and unsaved edits

Recognize unsaved changes and confirm that your Cloud file edits have been saved.

In Cloud, the saved source is the file content stored in your project. The editor can hold newer changes while you work.

Save edits to the Cloud project

  • 1. Editor
  • 2. Saved project file
  1. Editor → Saved project file · Request: Save File
  2. Saved project file → Editor · Response: Save confirmed

Check the tab

A dot on a file tab marks unsaved changes. While a save is in progress, a spinner appears in its place.

Save the current edits

  1. Select the file tab you want to save.

  2. Press Ctrl+S, the default save shortcut. You can also press Ctrl+Shift+P and select Save File.

  3. Wait for the spinner to finish. Check that the unsaved dot has cleared.

If you keep typing while the save is in progress, the newer edits keep the tab marked as unsaved. Save again to store those edits.

Keep changes when closing a tab

When you close a tab with unsaved changes, choose Save to save them, or Cancel to keep the tab open.
