Open a saved layout in KLayout

Install KLayout in Digital Design Studio on Windows and open a saved GDSII or OASIS layout.

Use Digital Design Studio 2.1.2.3 for Windows (x64) with a project stored on this PC. DDS installs KLayout 0.30.12 in its extension storage.

Install KLayout

  1. Open your project stored on this PC in DDS.

  2. Choose View > Project Manager > Plugins.

  3. Choose KLayout, then choose Install.

  4. Wait for installation to finish. DDS checks the package integrity and version.

Open a saved layout

  1. In the KLayout details, choose Open layout in KLayout….

  2. Select a saved .gds, .gdsii, .oas, or .oasis file in the file picker.

  3. KLayout opens the selected file in a separate application.
