Read RTL function parameter hints on Windows

Show a function's signature while entering its arguments in the Windows editor.

Use Digital Design Studio 2.1.2.3 for Windows. Sign in and open a saved, writable SystemVerilog source file in a local project.

Show parameter hints

Use a function declared and called in the same module, such as function automatic int add(input int a, input int b); return a + b; endfunction and a call to add(1, 2).

  1. Place the cursor inside the function call's argument list.

  2. Open the editor context menu and choose Code assistance → Show parameter hints.

  3. Read the function signature and the highlighted parameter.

  4. To inspect another argument, place the cursor there and choose Code assistance → Show parameter hints again.
