Saved analysis artifacts

Files and recorded data from local Testbench simulation on Windows desktop.

On Windows desktop 2.1.2.3, Testbench simulation saves each run under .alti/sim/<runId>/ in the current Digital Design Studio project. The run ID identifies that run's saved files.

Saved files

File

Contents

receipt.json

Run status and exit code; simulator and extension versions; source paths and SHA-256 digests; log; waveform and viewer-file identities; start and finish times.

Testbench dump file

The original VCD or FST waveform, when produced, saved with the testbench's dump filename.

<stem>.view.vcd

The VCD file created from an FST waveform for display in Digital Design Studio.

Each waveform record includes its format, project-relative path, byte size and SHA-256 digest.

Waveform formats

Waveform format offers VCD and FST. Digital Design Studio displays VCD directly and converts FST into a VCD view. The waveform viewer accepts VCD views up to 33554432 bytes (32 MiB).

Read the result

After a run produces a waveform view, Digital Design Studio reads the saved file and checks its byte size and SHA-256 digest before opening it. Expand Simulator log to read that run's log.
